Jasmyn's Thoughts

Christine

Do you think that this budget can be sustainable for you in the long run in terms of nutrition and being able to live with some sort of freedom?

I don't think I will be able to live on this budget permanently... Limiting myself to only 40$ for food and 10$ for transport everyday is not something I can see myself doing in the future because travelling to school and extracurriculars can cost a lot for me.

How do you think the HK gov can make changes to help refugees to navigate this process easier?

Right now asylum seekers and refugees are unable to find jobs (it’s illegal for them)The HK gov should alleviate this ban and let them find jobs for themselves allowing them to find food and support their families. In this fast paced city, food, rent, and transportation are costly. They should be able to fend for themselves instead of living off the menial government allowance of $40 a day for food and $10 a day for transportation.
